Boston takes 1-0 lead in series
The Boston Celtics emerged victorious in the opening game of the Eastern Conference Finals, edging out the Indiana Pacers 133-128 in overtime on Tuesday night.
Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 31 points and 10 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown added 29 points and Marcus Smart chipped in 20 points. Malcolm Brogdon paced the Pacers with 30 points, followed by Tyrese Haliburton with 28 points and Buddy Hield with 24 points.
The Celtics controlled most of the game, leading by as many as 17 points in the third quarter. However, the Pacers fought back and tied the game with just seconds remaining in regulation. In overtime, the Celtics took control and secured the win.
Game 2 of the series will be played on Thursday night in Boston.
