Edmonton Oilers Defeat Washington Capitals 5-4
Hyman scores hat-trick, Draisaitl adds four points
Zach Hyman scored a hat-trick and Leon Draisaitl added four points as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Washington Capitals 5-4 on Monday night.
Hyman opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period and added two more in the second. Draisaitl had two assists on Hyman's goals and also scored a goal of his own in the second period.
Evgeny Kuznetsov led the Capitals with two goals and an assist, while Connor McDavid had a goal and an assist for the Oilers.
Mike Smith made 32 saves for the Oilers, while Darcy Kuemper made 27 saves for the Capitals.
The Oilers improved to 9-5-0 with the win, while the Capitals fell to 7-4-2.
